Now then....
1. Don't come to the interview with flip flops on your feet and sunglasses on your head, smacking gum.
2. Don't list the wrong name of the company you're in submitting your resume to.
3. Don't fluff your resume with a degree and experience you don't have - the truth will be discovered.
4. Don't tell the person who is interviewing you that you don't know anything about the company in which you are applying.... "So what does Alter Imaging do?"
5. Don't drop the "F" bomb.
6. Don't come to the interview smelling of the night before, lest we have to fumigate the conference room with Lysol.
7. Don't show up 45 minutes late without even a phone call.
8. Don't have a semi-obscene picture of yourself on your Facebook page. We're easy going, but come on!
9. Don't set-up your "online portfolio" to look like a company.
10. Don't use someone else's work in your portfolio....
11. Don't title your resume "Updated Resume.doc" or "Resume To Apply With.doc". Your name as the title would be most beneficial!
And my all time favorite:
Don't tell the person you're interviewing with that you'd like to own your own company that does the exact same thing!
Ok, so if you really do want a shot at getting a job at Alter Imaging here are some pretty simple rules to follow.
1. Show up on time - but not 30 minutes early!
2. If the job listing asks for a cover letter - there's a reason - make sure it's not a template.
3. Be yourself. Don't try to be the person you think we want you to be.
4. Bring in examples of your work. Seeing is believing.
5. Dress business casual. No suit required here.
6. Do a little homework on our company, you're going to be asked!
7. Come prepared with any relevant questions that you have.
8. If you're a designer, make sure your resume conveys that. Times New Roman sucks!
9. If you're a programmer, make sure you bring or can send samples of your code.
10. Relax... and wear something red, preferably PMS 1805 (JK)

Good stuff here Susanne. No doubt finding good people is a tough task, and with the casual nature of social media and the web in general I've found that some people have lost the ability to converse in a professional manner regarding a job opportunity, potential new business, etc... which is a shame.
